What is Intensive Couples Therapy?

Intensive Couples Therapy is a concentrated, results-driven approach designed to help partners make significant progress in a short amount of time, typically through one to three days of extended sessions rather than weekly appointments. This immersive format allows couples to dive deep into recurring conflicts, emotional injuries, communication issues, and disconnection without the interruptions of traditional therapy pacing. Drawing from evidence-based models like the Gottman Method and Emotionally Focused Therapy, the process is tailored to each couple’s unique needs and can often achieve the equivalent of months of therapy in a single weekend. Intensive sessions are especially beneficial for couples in crisis, navigating betrayal, or at a crossroads in their relationship, providing the focused support and tools needed to rebuild trust, strengthen emotional bonds, and foster lasting change.
